All the replies are on target - the noise and distraction are reasons I rarely even go out to a movie - the experience is ruined by rude people. When I go to a concert at Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher or the Met, the place is dead quiet during performance - no surprise there, an older, more respectful crowd who paid top dollar for their tickets.

I'm heading for the GD movie in Manhattan this Thursday - we'll see how this crowd is.

Just move... I have definitely had some annoying people near me, but I just walk away. Also I go to the front nearly every time, and sound is usually so loud that someone talking next to is barely a whisper.
